Longing for a break in the African Bush?

There are so many ways to visit Africa!  Start by thinking about the activities that interest you most. Gwango guests usually spend time game viewing by vehicle. Some folks are eager to see specific species of wildlife, like the big cats, but for others it may be a bird species.

Night drives can also be particularly exciting! We often see elephants and other large species by moonlight, and with a really good eye, you'll spot nocturnal animals such as the hyena, bush baby, spring hares and leopard (if you're really lucky. Guided walks are probably the ultimate safari experience. It's possible that you could to get up close to elephant and other big game, in addition to learning about the forest and biodiversity.

Your base with us in Hwange will be either Gwango Elephant Lodge or Gwango Heritage Resort.  Both are rustic, untamed bush camps with all the amenities you would expect at a reputable safari establishment.

Although you wouldn’t consider these safari activities - the Victoria Falls (2-hours drive from Gwango) ALSO offers a wide range of other opportunities, including gorge swings, zip lines, bungee jumping, river rafting.. the possibilities are endless.

That said... don’t miss out on actually meeting the people of Zimbabwe - something that makes our country significantly more meaningful in the minds of most visitors.  The happy, pleasant spirt of our people sets us apart.  We can arrange cultural tours and village trips, or – if you wish to fully immerse yourself here, spend time volunteering - an experience that is quite unforgettable!
