Booking Conditions

The person making a booking at Gwango accepts these booking conditions on behalf of everyone in his / her party.  If Gwango accepts your booking we will issue a booking confirmation with a link to this page. An agreement will exist between us from the date when we issue the booking confirmation. The following booking conditions will apply:

PAYMENT: When you receive your Booking Confirmation please check the details carefully and inform Gwango immediately if anything appears incorrect. A deposit of 50% guarantees your reservation. The balance of all payments due must be paid to Gwango no later than 60 days before arrival. In the case of non-payment of the balance by the date due, Gwango will treat the booking as cancelled by you. Gwango cannot accept any liability for items lost in the mail.  Events beyond our control may result in price increases and surcharges – we reserve the right to pass on these increases.

IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING: Changes made by you to your booking will incur an amendment fee of up to $50 per guest per amendment.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS: Cancellation fees apply to all reservations.  The date of cancellation is the date on which Gwango receives the written cancellation. Cancellation fees are as follows:

91-120 days prior to departure: 20% of total original booking
61-90 days prior to departure: 50% of total original booking
60 days or fewer prior to departure: 100% of total original booking

No refunds will be made if you leave a trip for any reason whatsoever, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, after the trip has begun. 

No refunds will be made for accommodation, transport, sightseeing, meals or services not utilized.

DINING, FOOD & BEVERAGES: Gobelo Bar & Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner between 6:30am and 9pm daily. Packed meals and cooler boxes with beverages can be arranged. This is not a self-catering establishment, cooking in your room is prohibited and we cannot store personal food supplies for guests.  

LAUNDRY: Laundry service is available on site, please enquire with our front desk staff for laundry fees. Washing clothes and other personal items in your room, or hanging clothes to dry in and around your room is not permitted. 

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel Insurance is compulsory for all persons staying at Gwango and should provide cover against theft, personal accident, personal liability, medical expenses, repatriation and cancellation of tickets.

RESPONSIBILITY:  Gwango reserve the right to cancel any trip prior to departure; in such case, a full refund of all payments will constitute full settlement with the guests. Guests agree to accept the authority of the Gwango guides and staff.  Gwango will not accept responsibility or liability for any guest who contravenes any law or regulation of any country visited. Where Gwango provides services it will do so with due care and skill. Gwango acts as agent for transport companies, activities, and other contractors and shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay or irregularity that may occur. The guest understands that during the course of the trip certain risks may occur, including, but not limited to the hazards of accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, and the forces of nature.

Wild animals are able to move through the Gwango camps at any time. The guests agree to assume all risks associated with their stay.

YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS: Gwango strongly recommends a visit to your dentist and doctor before your trip. You must ask your doctor about current inoculation requirements.  Full details of pre-existing medical conditions must be forwarded to Gwango when you book. You should undertake extra exercise before traveling to Hwange in order to counteract the effects of heat and a change in diet.
